Personal Days
As of August 1st, we will be implementing a new personal day policy. The policy is
rather complicated; a comprehensive manual outlining everything in detail will be
distributed at a later time. For now, the basic principles of the policy are outlined
here:
Personal days must now be accompanied by some verification of the
authenticity of the nature of the personal day taken. For example, a dentist's
visit must be verified by a note from the dentist. A sample-size of dental floss
would also qualify as proof in this case.
Personal days can not be taken in the months of April, June, July, or
September.
No more than 1 personal day may be used in a month.
Personal days may not be taken in consecutive months. The aforementioned
months do not count in this case. In other words, May and August are treated
as consecutive months under the new policy. The same applies for August and
October.
Unused personal days do NOT carry over into the next year. They simply
disappear.
These policies are retroactive. Thus everyone loses any accumulated personal
days. However, you will be awarded 1 free minute of executive washroom
privileges for each lost personal day, not to exceed 11 minutes.
Free executive washroom minutes may not be used during business hours (M-F,
9A-6P).
There are several additional restrictions and ramifications, which will be outlined in
detail in the aforementioned employee manual. Said manual will be available at a cost
of $4.00 per employee. Please make checks payable to the Accounting Department.
